Apr 04 2016 Welcome baby Adeline // First 48 Photography // Anchorage, Alaska
I am pretty sure i have never in my life seen a baby born with more hair than baby Adeline! Even though I’m pretty sure doctors say the amount of heart burn you have in pregnancy is NOT related – her mother assured me that in her case it definitely was!
She is absolutely adorably perfect though – and I had the pleasure of photographing her about 3 hours after her debut into the world, and capture her very first meeting with her big brother!

Jan 17 2016 Newborns at Home // Anchorage Lifestyle baby photography
I have been photographing this adorable family for years – and truly I love them! I know that baby Wesley is their last little one, so it was super important to capture some truly meaningful images of their littlest babe.
What I especially love about newborn sessions at home is the opportunity it gives other family members (like siblings!) to remain in their element. Big brothers got to hang out, and be themselves, while everyone basked in the glow of having a new family member to show off and adore!
It is probably the most relaxed session you can have! I know moms always stress a little bit about having a “clean house” – but it’s really not that important! We just stash the clutter in a closet and move on. No fuss, no muss!

Jan 10 2016 7 months // Baby Milestone Session // Alaska baby photographer
So often as parents we get into this mindset that we need to document babies lives based on their age. But truly – babies first year is about milestones! Every baby sits at a different age, crawls at a different age, and even walks at a different age!
I love capturing the sitting up milestone – babies still have those adorable rolls that disappear quickly after they start to crawl! And they will actually sit still – because they can’t crawl away quite yet! It’s such a fun and adorable moment to capture in time.
And of course- it’s the perfect time to get the whole family in to get some sibling as well as mom & dad images!
Baby Lincoln was a dream – so chunky and perfect! He sits up like a champ – and had fun playing with my shiny pinwheels! He clearly adores his family – and they adore him too!
Can’t wait to capture his next milestones – although I’m sure mom doesn’t want that to come too quickly 😉

Dec 09 2015 Baby Lucy // Anchorage Studio Newborn Photography
Babies! Babies! It’s been a slow summer for babies this year – but come fall, sweet babes started to arrive! And I FINALLY got the chance to use the vintage pram that my lovely friend Vanessa Powell gifted me. It was her grandmother’s and I have been DYING for a chance to photograph a little one in it!
Baby Lucy is also (drum roll please!) the very first babe I’ve gotten to photograph in my new studio space! She is a gorgeous teeny-tiny little babe – and isn’t her silky, shiny hair to die for!
Her big brothers are pretty in love with her – I just adore them all – they are the sweetest family you could meet – and I just love the images that we created!

Oct 22 2015 Sarah is new // Alaska lifestyle newborns // baby photography
I adore this family. I know – I say that about all my clients – but it’s true. I met Angie working at BP and we just hit it off immediately. She was my coffee date escape partner when needed to step away from our desks before going postal… We just get each other. Angie knew me through both my pregnancies and when she got pregnant with Sarah I was SOOO excited!
We had an incredible maternity session – she and Michael were just over the moon already for their little girl – and they made my job super easy! Check out those images here!
Angie also has impeccable style. She is about the cutest thing and her home in Wasilla was so beautiful. Sadly, they have since moved out of Alaska (and I miss her like crazy!) but it was so amazing to be able to capture some images of baby Sarah in the very first place she knew as home.

Jul 15 2015 Featured Product // 1st Year Signature Album
I so admire the women that can scrapbook and create baby books for their little ones. I am completely inept at it.
So – I created my 1 year photo book to help moms (like me) who might appreciate the importance of capturing the memories of babies first year – along with the images that we create through the year!
These albums are perfect with a full year package – we capture your little’s one latest stats and what their milestones are at each session – weight, length, percentile, favorite foods or toys, words and actions (creeping, crawling, sitting, clapping, etc!)
All the stuff you think is so important and adorable that you will never forget and then… 6 months passes and you realize, you have no idea what your kids first food was! Or maybe you have super mom memory and you do remember – either way – this is a keepsake you can hand down in the tradition of the baby book to let your little one that you were, truly, a stellar mom, even if you didn’t scrapbook about it.

Jun 19 2015 First 48 // Alaska newborn and birth photography
Baby Lincoln has arrived! Perfect and precious and… late. Most moms can relate – the last few weeks of pregnancy are the worst. You are so excited to meet your little one – most of us are super uncomfortable by this point – the constant bathroom breaks, the heartburn, the swelling of feet, legs… and CANKLES! It’s not a pretty picture. And even though Lincoln’s mom looked radiant, I know she was ready to evict! So when your little one refuses to cooperate and settles in for an extra two weeks in the womb. Well. We all get a little impatient!
But finally – he arrived!
And I got to create these precious images of him in his first 48 hours of life – at the hospital meeting his brother and just settling in to life outside.
So precious – so perfect – and so loved.

Jan 08 2015 Birth Photography // Providence Alaska
Oh how I love birth photography! I’m still very new to this genre but it has stolen my heart and I so look forward to doing more and more in this new year!
I just adore this mama. Karaina is herself a doula and very in tune with the birthing process. This was her second babe and she very much wanted to capture the experience visually. I think most moms – myself included! often don’t think about or don’t know that birth photography is a ‘thing’! We are so nervous about the whole birth thing that we assume the last thing we will want is someone clicking away in the background distracting us or even worse, getting some raunchy and traumatizing images…
But I assure you – that is not what birth photography is about. This is about capturing the emotion. And that’s why I love it so much. There aren’t a whole lot of moments more powerful than being present for the arrival of a new little one. Moms are amazing. Babies are amazing – and the process of bringing new babies into the world, well… the images speak for themselves.
A huge congrats to this beautiful and amazing family, and for their willingness to let me share their images!
